Project Overview
Carrots Lab develops several apps rather than a single product.
Before the design system, each project started almost from scratch.
Design decisions like typography, color logic, and components were inconsistent, which slowed down development and made it difficult to maintain a cohesive product experience across apps.
Our goal was to create a flexible design system template that could support multiple apps while keeping a consistent design foundation.
The Problem
Design lacked standardization
• No shared component library
• Inconsistent typography and color usage
• Repeated design work across projects
• Difficult to support light and dark mode
• Slower MVP launches
Every new app required rebuilding basic UI patterns.
Strategy
Create a reusable design system template
We built a shared foundation that designers could use to start any new product.
The system included:
• Global color variables
• Typography scale
• Design tokens and local variables
• Core UI components
• Light and dark mode support
• Consistent layout and spacing rules
This allowed each new app to start from a structured base rather than a blank file.
Impact
Faster MVP development
Using the system, the MVP for Home AI was designed in about two weeks.

Products share a clearer visual language and interaction patterns.
